Following the success of her 2021 debut album "Sour", Olivia Rodrigo decided to continue her collaboration with Dan Nigro for her 19-year-old-themed album "Guts". This album describes the confusion, mistakes, embarrassments, and intense teenage rebellion she experienced throughout the year. The lead single "Vampire" was released on June 30, 2023, and quickly topped charts in multiple countries, including the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
The "Bad Idea Right?" music video, directed by Petra Collins, is a departure from Olivia Rodrigo's usual style. For this project, Rodrigo invited Madison Hu, with whom she previously starred in the Disney show "Bizaardvark", along with Iris Apatow and the rising star in the music scene, Tate McRae, to participate in the MV.
