I hope this can help those who are currently navigating through this process. This post is primarily about NTU (National Taiwan University) and the U.S. The process might vary slightly depending on the region or university, but generally, the steps should be similar. Need to Send Transcripts to the U.S.?

The school you're applying to may request a paper transcript (either before or after admission), or a WES certification (which definitely requires a paper transcript to be sent).

Some schools accept digital copies. In that case, you can directly apply for a digital transcript through NTU and email it directly to the school's email (though each school has different requirements. For instance, Columbia University requires additional encryption, but NTU does not provide encryption services, so paper copies must still be sent).

Automated Payment Machine Application

Visit the automated payment machine and apply for a "cumulative transcript." Some schools may require bilingual versions, some may only require English, but I usually apply for both the Chinese and English cumulative transcripts to put in together. You should also purchase an envelope for the sealed document at the same time.

The transcript will be printed from the machine next to you, and for the envelope sealing, you need to take your receipt to the registration group at the Registrar's Office to take a number.

A few reminders:

All papers for application must be sealed to be valid. Whenever you are mailing paper copies, they must be sealed. Generally, all the papers can be put into one envelope, but if specified otherwise, they need to be placed into different envelopes.
Some schools may require other documents, such as proof of current enrollment, so be sure to check that.
For those applying at the "beginning of the semester" such as in the first semester of the senior or super-senior year, usually, the cumulative transcript applied for before the semester starts will be complete up until the end of the summer courses of your junior year. However, if you apply after the course selection is completed after the start of the semester, the courses selected for the new semester will be included and marked as "NG" No Grade Reported. You can choose when to apply for the cumulative transcript based on your needs.

I usually send my documents through DHL from 7-Eleven. It usually takes just two to three days, which is incredibly fast. If you prefer to go to Family Mart, UPS is also a great choice with good reviews!

Please make sure to use the link above! Do not choose the option for sending goods, as you need to declare.

Then fill in the sender's and receiver's information. For the sender's address and name, you can use your university's name and address, and use your own mobile number and email for tracking convenience.

The receiver's information can usually be found on the school's website, typically it's the Office of Admission.

After filling out the form, you can pay online with your credit card.

Mailing from 7-11

You will receive a number and QR code for ibon printing. You can go directly to 7-11 to print it, there will be four copies in total.

Then, tell the counter you want to send a DHL document. They will provide you with a DHL folder. (Based on my experience from sending three times, the staff are usually confused and may need to make a phone call, but every time it has successfully been sent, so don't worry!) There is no need to write anything else or pay any more fees.

You will receive a tracking number via text message, which you can input directly to find out where your document is now.

You should also closely monitor the school's website. Some schools open the mails quickly, while others are slower (now you know how to choose your school, right?)
